Mindfulness crafts and Children’s Yoga

Painting mindfulness stones, or kindness rocks, can be a lovely craft to do with your children and it is one of the mindfulness crafts we will enjoy during our MamaHugz Children's and toddler Yoga course in September :)

Mindfulness has been a huge topic in the last few years, with more concrete evidence that it is an imperative skill to be teaching our children. It can help them be calm, focused, and learn new skills.

Kindness Rocks are small rocks that are painted with fun, inspirational pictures or messages and are placed in public areas for others to find. A lovely random act of kindness :)

Our kindness rocks are painted with white acrylic paint to begin with. Once dry, we decorate the rocks together at the end of class using gel tip pens, stickers and eco glitter. The children are then encouraged to go for a walk in a park for example or anywhere else around your community that gets a large amount of foot traffic. The Kindness Rocks are then hidden so they can be easily found by our local community. This is called the " Kindness Rocks project"

You may have seen these kindness rocks already dotted around Marble Hill park. Once you spot one it instantly puts a smile on your face! The act of Kindness rocks not only encourages children to be in the present moment but also to fulfill a good and kind deed :)

I hope to see you at one of my children or toddler yoga classes soon
