Dia dhuit,

I’m Tríona, an Irish mum to a 5 year old and 2 year old living in St Margarets…

I launched Mama Hugz Yoga to realise my vision of creating a yoga community and a support network for mamas and their little ones.

Triona Yoga instructor, Richmond

With over a decade of teaching experience, I am a fully qualified yoga teacher specialising in prenatal, postnatal and women’s yoga.

My yoga offering stems from Pre-conception through to motherhood with classes based in Richmond, St Margarets and Twickenham London .

Having practiced ballet for many years, I discovered yoga in my early twenties in Ireland. I immediately fell in love with the practice and travelled further afield to India to further this passion and develop my own practice.

I soon discovered I wanted to share my love of yoga with others and decided to leave my job as an accountant in the city. I have never looked back.

My own journey to motherhood has influenced the natural development and progression of my yoga class offerings. I understand that the path to motherhood may prove challenging both emotionally and physically . Personally, I underwent IVF to conceive my first baby. It was a very difficult time however we were blessed to finally succeed. I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy in 2019. I experienced a very positive home birth which I credit hugely to my pregnancy yoga practice together with hypnobirthing . I was blessed to experience another beautiful homebirth in 2022 giving birth to my daughter Lily. As my motherhood journey continues and I experience different life stages with my children so too has my yoga practice and class offerings .

Pregnancy Yoga has always been my love. I am continuously in awe of the beauty and brilliance of birth and the many amazing, unique ways birth unfolds for each individual person.

I am passionate about active, positive and conscious birth and supporting pregnant women and new parents through the amazing transformation that parenthood brings forth. I encourage mamas to enjoy their pregnancy and to feel the empowerment obtained through knowledge and understanding of the process of birth. My yoga classes are fun and are offered with an open mind and open heart. The vibe is upbeat, nurturing and friendly. My yoga classes reflect my own passions including aromatherapy, music and hypnobirthing.

During my own transition into motherhood I realised how much support you need when you have a baby, not just physically but mentally. I truly believe in the sayings 'Mothering the Mother' and 'It takes a village to raise a child'. I never want a mum to feel alone or like she has nowhere to go to ask those little questions we all have.

With years of experience and training, my training is ongoing to be able to expand my support to expectant mothers and partners on an even deeper level. My ongoing training includes fertility yoga and aromatherapy for birth . I crave knowledge and feel privileged to be able to pass on this knowledge to others .

I look forward to meeting you and being there for you, to support you in whatever way you need me to and I am honoured to be able to do so.
